The biggest boat party in Chicago. Chicago Scene brings hundreds of boats to the Playpen for the single biggest day on the water all summer. Charter your own vessel, bring your crew, and cruise through the scene with the best views on the lake. Chicago Scene is the single highest-traffic boating day of the year on Lake Michigan. The Playpen and surrounding harbors are wall-to-wall boats from mid-morning through sunset. Important: Per USCG regulations, charter vessels are not permitted to tie up (raft) to other boats during this event. Your captain will cruise you through and around the action so you can take in the full scene safely from the water. Many of our guests tell us that cruising through Chicago Scene is actually the best way to experience it — you see the whole event from every angle instead of being anchored in one spot.
